Jozani forest is the largest indigenous forest that you can discover in Zanzibar island. It is located just south of the Chwaka Bay. This area is highly susceptible to flooding. Due to the same reason, you can discover an ideal environment for the tress to grow. Hence, you can find a dense forest as you continue to explore the Jozani forest national park.
One of the best things about Jozani is that it is the home to Red Monkeys, which you can find only in this part of the world. These are the most prominent Jozani forest animals that you will come across. Apart from them, you can find many other monkey specie, duikers, bushbabies, and more than 40 different bird species. The amount you pay as Jozani forest tour price would be totally worth it when compared to the rich experiences that you can get.
You can get more information about the Jozani opening hours and other details from the information center, which is located at the entrance. This is located around 35km away from the Zanzibar Town. Since you are going in an organized tour, everything will be pre-arranged. Hence, you will not have to go through any major struggles as you continue to explore.
You should be extra careful as you continue to explore the Jozani forest, as there is a risk of you being bitten by the animals. On the other hand, monkeys are subjected to catching human illnesses as well. You should keep this in mind and explore the forest.
